Flash forward to when I get at home and am playing dress up with it - I realize it's actually a tube dress and for someone of a much smaller size. Whodda thunk it? This dress fits me perfectly as a skirt! That just goes to show that your next treasure at a thrift store may be where you least expect it.

Have Your Cake & Eat It Too
I wore this quite awhile ago for the silliest thing. I rode in a vehicle to my sister's apartment, ate cake, then came home. Sometimes plans don't go the way you expect them. But it's all good. I'm still trying to break in these heeled boots. A quick errand is all my feet could handle!
Oh and while I'm on the subject of my clothes - this.gray.capelet! Oh my gosh. It may be the aww of having something new in my wardrobe or I may just be in actual love - but I just keep wearing it with stuff! (real life, not on the blog) I have a special spot in my heart for over-sized clothing, I think it reminds me of the 80's. (which I know for sure I do love!)

Electrifying
Shopping habits are an interesting thing. I always keep a written list of items I'm hoping to thrift and get so excited when I'm able to cross something off. Then that item goes unworn for some time because I can't seem to find the perfect way to wear it. At that point, I usually question why I wanted it so bad.
And there are other times I will pick up something on a whim and wear it over and over again.
This outfit is the perfect example of both of the points above. I bought the top without hesitation and I love it and wear it at least once a week. But the bodycon skirt was on my list, bought, and then sat in my closet. Since taking these photos, I've figured out that this skirt is not something for me. It's easy to get swept up in what other people are wearing and see how cool they look and then instantly want that. (um, hello, bodycon trend of 2011!)
I've taken a visual inventory of my closet and have told my mom to keep me accountable when shopping so I only get the things I love. I really hope to only make smart clothing purchases. But, hey, I'm only human. There are times when I will slip up, let's just hope they don't happen frequently and then end up on my blog! lol

My Life Is Average
Really, my life is average. It's nothing like what you hear about on this website with the same name. You won't be seeing any Waldo-clad teenagers or pirates doing cartwheels. Inspired by Brooke of Pretty Penny Mae, I set out to document my Saturday with a photo every hour with the help of my DSi.
9AM - I woke up at 9am whether I liked it or not. I knew that donuts and coffee were waiting for me in the kitchen. It's one of the perks of being a stay-at-home daughter. :)
10AM - Starting my morning off on the computer.
11AM -Tried & failed at painting my toe nails. It didn't come out like it did in my head!
12PM - A couple months ago, my mom lost an award plaque under the deck. (lol, long story!) And today with some MacGyvering, I rescued it.
1PM - Headed over to my sisters tiny apartment. She's so lucky to have cable!
2PM - I did a little hair, make-up, and topped it off with some America's Next Top Model in the background.
3PM - Headed back home! (I wasn't driving, don't worry)
4PM - Look at me, being all busy and stuff. I left the house again. This time to go to a church kalberwurst dinner. (kalberwurst is a German meat. I'm German!)
5PM - I was chowing down at 5. So this one will just be a mental picture of me eating.
6PM -Home sweet home. Again.
8PM - I then followed up the scary stuff by watching Friday nights episode of Ghost Adventures and enjoyed some Ben & Jerry's ice-cream. (obviously)
9PM - My exciting night slowed down when I decided to scan some images on my computer. Just old family pictures and such. I really know how to have an awesome Saturday night!
Now the mystery behind my life has been exposed. Thanks for reading/looking!

Bunny Business
At my old house, we had crazy squirrels who made themselves known. They would climb on our roof, attempt break ins through our window, and even flat out die in our yard. At this house, bunnies are taking over. They sit very still eating grass, playfully chase one another (as there are always more than one) and enjoy playing hide'n'seek under our deck. Anyone else have wild animals as their "pets"?
Outfit details - Dress, previously a nightgown from my aunt - Belt, $? (Amazon, old) - Denim jacket, .25 cents (thrifted) - Sandals, $5 (Wal-Mart old) - Bracelets, gift

In-Betweenie
I remember being the age of 10-12 and knowing that I was a tween. In-between being a young kid and a full fledged teenager.
I think in a lot of ways, I'm going through that in-between stage all over again. I'm 21, no longer a teenager but not quite an adult. I'm just a young adult. My life is in between right now, my family is living in a house and seeking another one. The weather is a mix of winters leftover chill and the bright summer sun. Even my blog is going through an awkward stage! I have stuff ready to happen and to start and things I want to do, but I have to wait and be patient, so my blog is going through a lull as it is.
Sometimes I get so caught up in making sure I'm in the next step of life that I forget that even being in-between is being somewhere. It's in the middle of all the action, new horizons and adventures are just around the corner.
But, I wouldn't trade this time in my life for anything. I've been growing, and learning, and becoming a much better version of myself. Who could hate that kind of time?

Into The 60's
Yesterday my mom turned the big 6-1. We partook in birthday ice-cream, fast food, running errands, lounging in the beautiful weather in our backyard, homemade brownies, and ended the day with the movie "Money Pit". We watched and laughed at all the similarities that movie has to our real life house. Speaking of our house, we got some good news about it yesterday (well, as good as it's gonna get). After being told it was sold and we have to move out May 1st (talk about last minute moving!) we were informed that we don't have to move out until June 1st, which means I have an extra month of being lazy and not packing. :)
Below is the gift I whipped up for her. Not quite whipped up, I really just spent a lot of time on it. It's a pre-made mini tea set (fun fact: my mom collects mini tea sets) and I hand painted owls onto it. It's a mix of the both of us - and she loves it!

Down The Rabbit Hole
While I'm far past my Easter Bunny believing years, and typically celebrate Jesus rising from the grave on Easter, I can't help but notice the bunnies were trying to make me a believer again. We've had them all over our yard for the past couple of weeks. Just the other night, I went outside and was greeted with one eating some green grass, then I watched as he ducked and hid under our deck.. hmm, what could this possibly mean?! They are sneaky - that's for sure!
I wore my finest Easter attire on Sunday. Ok, maybe not finest. But newest! This was a dress I picked up at H&M the other day (returned a hat - got a dress!) and these tights are unworn, and well, hey, these are new shoes I ordered from a cute Etsy shop last week! I guess the childhood tradition of getting a new outfit for the big day kind of lives on now that I'm older. That was completely unplanned!
Since we're talking about the past, I'll end this post with a picture of mini me on Easter many, many years ago. Look, my head is still small enough to wear those glasses! ;)
