Fashion Forecast

I think is this whole style blogger thing doesn't work out for me, I could just write about the weather. Let me take a shot at it now!
Last Friday we had a huge mega snow storm that I couldn't resist taking pictures in. Everyday after that it hit at least 40 degrees and slowly melted the winter wonderland. Womp womp.. oh, and yesterday it rained!

Let's just take a moment to stare at these pictures and wish everyday was full of snow covered grounds. Or maybe that's just me who wishes that. :)

I've Got Nothing To Hide

I'm slowly creepin' back into the blogging world. Thank you to everyone for your words of support as I'm attempting to sell my creations! Also, another thank you to those who have entered my giveaway for Vedette Shapewear.
Speaking of Vedette - I've got another post, right here, featuring them. You'll be excited to know that this time it's in video format. So if you liked my last video with me talking about thrifting, then you're going to love me this time.
I'll try to briefly sum up the video - I slipped in some subtle nods to the 80's & 90's, set it to an awesome song, and really showcased the versatility of this garment. It was a comfy piece that I could move about easily in and made me feel like a cooler version of myself. Here is a glammed up version of a snippet of my life!

(clothes in the video were mostly all thrift, the shapewear is Valerie and was sent to me for the purpose of promoting the campaign "I've Got Nothing To Hide")

It's A Mod, Mod, Mod, Mod World

I'm making an attempt to start selling my handmade jewelry in my Etsy shop starting on March 1st. If you've looked at a calendar recently, you would know that is in one week. So I'm kinda running like a mad woman trying to all my things together and created. I'm also trying to stay as far away from the internet as possible. At this point I feel like a kid with too much homework and if I get on the internet for too long, then I can say farewell to getting any real work done. But trust me, I've made a TON of progress and am going out of town to pick up some more supplies tonight! Things are lookin' reeeeal good.

I couldn't make a post without some pictures, right? So here is a mini photo shoot I had with myself on Sunday. The weather was GORGEOUS! (as of right now, all that green grass has a thick layer of snow on it, with more coming!!)

I'm looking forward to catching up with all my online stuff in a few days. Soo enjoy these pictures AND the weekend! :D

It's just a Saturday Night

Imagine with me if you will that it's Saturday. (because that's when this picture set is from!)
The morning began with a quick trip shopping at the outlet center (hence the casual day look) and then when the evening rolled around, I went out to dinner with my family. (cue the night look!)
Here in Wisconsin, sit down dinners don't get much better than the Dairy Queen. Ok, so I'm exaggerating. There are plenty of nice, family oriented restaurants and we happened to find one that my dad wouldn't shut up about. Constantly through our meal, my sister and I would tell my dad to stop talking about the last time he was there. It was like watching a movie and having someone tell you everything that's going to happen. Annoying!
But honestly, it was a neat place and I was siked for the walleye. In a photo below you can see just how huge my piece was! And it should be for $17! We all left with full stomachs and empty wallets. haha
Probably the coolest thing was apparently there was a party going on in another room (we were in the blue room, fancy, I know) and everyone that came in was in period piece clothing, coonskin caps, and other outfits that would make Paul Bunyan swoon. I sooo wanted to know what was going on and be apart of it! I bet it was going to be a pretty rockin' time.

From AM to PM

This post is a little different than usual. I recently teamed up with Vedette shapewear for their "I've Got Nothing To Hide" campaign. They were kind enough to send me a couple pieces (of my choosing) that I'll be using for some fun projects! Today I'm going to showcase my take on day-to-night looks using their piece "Evonne", which is essentially the shape of a swimsuit but with awesome smoothing powers!
I treated it like a blank canvas and dressed it up (and down) from there! So without further ado, here are the looks...
Day
Night
I'm a modest dresser - always! So I was so glad when they let me pick out the pieces I would be styling. I would never sacrifice my personal style for the sake of representing a company. These are two looks I would honestly wear in real life and feel pretty fantastic in!
I do understand that innerwear as outerwear is a somewhat unusual concept. I had tried my hand at it a few times when I was younger and am way more pleased with the outcome this time around. This company really know what they're doing!
That's all I have for now. Stay tuned for a few more fun features with Vedette coming up very soon!

Be Mine

I had the loveliest of Valentines Day - spent it with the woman I love, my mom. :)
Any day that involves heart shaped potatoes, steak, watching t.v., dessert for every meal, flowers, and not getting judged for being over-dressed is good in my book!
Now to hit up those after Valentine's Day sales!! Oooh, I am excited about what I may come across.

Just Fanging Out

Lame title - I know! This necklace I'm wearing is not vampire fangs, but I can imagine, right? I did another swap with Dani of DIY Fatshion this week that consisted of accessories. I've always been a huge fan of jewelry shaped like animal teeth (I think it was a fad in like 2005 and that's really where it started for me) and jumped at the chance to claim a couple of Dani's pieces that were of that nature. It's pretty cool, right?

Not sure if this outfit is working or not. I had plans to leave the house yesterday and was pondering what to wear. This was what my mind kept stopping on. I just stared at it so long that I couldn't decipher if it really was cool or not. haha Can't say I didn't try! At the very least, this outfit has an awesome scarf-hoodie that I finally put to use. I've seriously had it all since last Fall and can never bring myself to wear it. But it was free with a gift card I got, so I don't feel too bad about not using it.

Sorry to be all boring and just talk about clothes, but this week has pretty much been a blur or boring things. Let's hope the weekend shakes things up!!

Outfit details - Blazer, $1 (thrifted) - Tunic, gift - Jeggings, $20 (Wal-Mart old) - Leopard print flats, $7 (K-Mart old) - Scoodie, gift card moolah (American Apparel. Dollar Story DIY: Gold Leaf Headband

I'm really into using cheapie dollar store to make sweet projects. My last "Dollar Store DIY" was also a headband. That's mainly because headbands are simple to make and can really spruce up an outfit. I've got another one here for you today! The idea is not my own, but was heavily inspired by a product I saw online.
Can be bought online here for $68.00
I had originally tried to emalute their idea and use wire, but it was just not working for me! In the end, I like my idea of using the headband - it's way more comfy! My supplies are a dollar store headband, felt from my collection, and leaves bought from a dollar store bouquet. Can you imagine how gorgeous this idea would be with colorful flower petals?! I think that would be an awesome summer craft!

Tres Chic

I felt fantastically French, chic, and 80's, all at the same time in this outfit. And all I was doing was helping lift boxes. But I did it really fashionably. lol
I did for real get some wear out of this outfit again later in the day when I worked up a sweat playing some Just Dance. I'm so addicted to that game! I don't even like dancing, it just happens to lure me in with it's attractive retro music that I can't resist.

Oh and congrats to the Superbowl champs. I'm just glad somebody won! It would have been a bloodbath if both teams lost. :/

Outfit details - Tights, $5.50 (Wal-Mart) - Leopard print flats, $7 (K-Mart old) - Key Necklace, $1 (Bargain Depot old) - Everything else was thrifted totaling about $8
