The Storm Before The Calm

I was thinking of the phrase "calm before the storm" and was reminded of the Bible passage Psalm 107: 28-31. It's a quick message that talks about God being in control of the storm and bringing peace afterwards.

So I was thinking! What if there really isn't a "calm" that takes over before a storm, but rather a storm has to pass in order to feel peace? In my own life, for example, there is so much hustle and bustle going on with making plans and moving and stuff that comes along with it. I can't remember the "calm" that happened before it all started, it just kind of came, like a storm out of nowhere. And when it's over, and we're hopefully in a house, then the calm will be brought on. I think that for most people, they are almost always in constant "storm" mode, so it makes sense that they are always seeking the calm. Right?

If you're wondering how in the world these pictures tie in - it's because they were taken during a mighty wind that then resulted in a storm.

I think you have drawn out the exact message that God is sharing through His word. Well done! From my point of view, I consider life as the constant storm and death of the flesh as the eternity of peace in the spirit. God has amazing ways of speaking to us doesn't He? :)

You look so "bohemian gorgeous", gal! I really have missed reading your blog so much! Things have been crazy these days but hopefully they'll settle back down and I'll get back into the swing of things again. I hope all is well with you and your family! Take care hon, xoxo
