Ringing In The New Year

I kid you not, I am home with my mother tonight and we are playing "You Don't Know Jack", the computer game, because it's amazing and my father is in the other room watching "Walker Texas Ranger".
No matter where you are on New Years Eve, I believe the name itself is reason enough to dress fabulously. I'm also sporting slippers and an over sized hoodie, but those aren't pictured just for my own sake. :)

Outfit details - Tunic, saved for the occasion and bought from The Swiss Colony - Bolero, $3 (thrifted, It's Our Time brand) - Leggings, cheaplings from Wal-Mart years ago - Belt, great-grandma's - Rings, gumball machine many years ago - Earrings, homemade many years ago. My outfit is fold of pieces that have an old story!

The Settlers of Catan

I'm not a particularly nerdy person, but I do however plan the game "Settlers of Catan". My friends have become highly addicted to it in the last few years and it's kind of a go-to activity now. Well, last night we had a huge Christmas/Game Board party and it was lots of fun. We had 3 Settlers games going...

(all of use squeezed into a room, well I took the picture so I'm not in it.)

We played many other games such as Things, Boxers or Briefs (I played for the first time and it was a super hilarious game!), Killer Bunnies, and some random card games. It was definitely a good time with some great people!

As for this evening! It's extremely foggy and I have absolutely no plans. Not even kind of. It figures that I would spend the last day of 2010 the same way I've spent nearly every day this year, sadly uneventful! This year I don't even have my sister at home to hang out with, she's spending her time by herself in her apartment which I imagine is worse, at least I have my parents.
Well I hope you all the HAPPIEST of New Years! I'm sure it will be fabulous. :D

Outfit details - Jeggings, $20 (Wal-Mart) - Purple tunic, $7 (Rue21) - Leopard print top, Swiss Colony - Cardigan, got it at my great grandma's house (some vintage brand, it's surely older than me) - Belt, $0 (came with a vest) - Feather earring, homemade

Chocolate Party

The title says it all. I went to a chocolate party last night and this is what I wore. I was shocked to see that it was a sea of jeans, and I was no exception. I almost almost wore tights, but I thought it might look too much for a small get together of girls playing games on a floor and eating chocolate. Know what I mean?
I am a watcher of Laguna Beach/The Hills as of earlier this year. We do not have cable in our household and I remember when the show was really big a few years ago, my sister and I just laughed about it. How can people be so addicted to it? Welllll, I guess something has changed. We began watching it on Netflix and then had the DVD's sent to our house and we have made our way through LB and we're on the 5th season of The Hill's currently. It's much funner to watch now though because we totally know how it's going to end. I mean, just because I wasn't watching the show doesn't mean I wasn't up to date on what was going on in their lives through magazines! Anywho, point of the story! I watched this episode where Heidi was this adorable beret and my mom was like, "Ooh, Hannah, you should make that!". I was way ahead of her thinking though and already knew how I was going to do it.
I made this feather hair clip in the summer time and have yet to wear it, so I clipped it on this new beret I picked up at the dollar store a couple weeks ago and voila!

It got lots of compliments at the party, so I'm thinking I will try another combo soon with some of my other hats. Most of my friends were shocked that this hat came from a dollar store, for $1, but I have to say that one of my favorite places to buy cheap accessories is from there. I'm not a big label person or a big spender so it fits my style well. I had them all fooled that this was super expensive. Psht, yeah right. I've bought lots of junk jewelry from there in the past and love to re-work it to make it cool. It's the perfect place to buy chains if you're into making necklaces!
Actually today I think I'm going to go work on making some rings. If any of them turn out good, you can be sure that I'll post them here. :)

Outfit details - Black shirt, $1 (Sear's) - Jeans, $3 (thrifted, Maurices brand) - Scarf, cut off from a dress - Vest, $11 (Forever21) - Moccasins, $33 (CSN.com) - Necklace, .50 cents (garage sale) - Earrings, one is from Claire's the other one is thrifted.

Christmas 2010 Recap

(me in all my bedhead glory. Before - waiting ever so patiently 2 hours to open gifts. After - it was all worth it getting a DSi!!!)I got a webcam which I was SUPER siked about!
I love the silly frames that the webcam came with. There is nothing like ruining a classic photo.
Christmas was pretty great this year! It kind of seem to sneak up on my mom and sister so they are calling for a second Christmas sometime this week which will consist of all the gifts that they last minute ordered last week. I too have a few things that didn't arrive by Saturday. This is just mostly a reference list for myself, but here is what I got..
Under the tree:
Project Runway Design Kit
HP Webcam
Nintendo DSi
Top Model DS game
Curious perfume (The Brittney Spears stuff that I can't get enough of!)
Apples to Apples (the game)
Money
Random make-up products from my sister
Calendar
Gloves
A book called "When God Winks at You"

In my stocking:
Shampoo
Chapstick
Kazoo
Candy
On Saturday night I went and had a sleepover with my sister. We played dueling games on our DSi's, battled for the crown in Pretty Pretty Princess and watched some classic Christmas movies. (that was how Woody stared at me while I slept, it was creepy)
I've often wondered, what do other people around my age ask for, for Christmas? Whenever I looked online for a guide it was always electronics! I didn't understand, yes I love getting electronics, but I'm even more siked for small things like gloves and chapstick. So what kind of things did you receive, what was your favorite gift?!

P.S. If you'd like, I'm now a user of DailyBooth where I have actually been posting pictures everyday! You can go follow me on it or leave me your name and I'll follow you! (in the least creepiest way possible)

Sparkle Season

Woot woot! Christmas is nearly here! Today I went out and did just a tad bit of shopping. I bought my mom some crazy expensive chocolates, but I know she will go absolutely crazy for them. I'm always the kind of gift-giver that won't spend more than $10 on a single person, but this year I broke my own rule. Especially with my mom. I happened to have a small load of credit to Amazon so that's where most of my gifts are coming from and I'm super excited for them to get here. They're coming in like 4 shipments (all different locations) and I think only one is coming in time for Christmas. But I'll deal. I still have small/random things to hand out the day of.
I was totally feeling the Christmas spirit today and decided to use tinsel as my photo prop. I love using props, they add such a new life to photos! And lookie there, I finally found rings to attach my mustache to. I added some super glue and it holds superbly!
What do ya'll do to get in the Christmas spirit?

Outfit details - Jacket, .75 cents (thrifted, Maurices brand) - Zebra print top, $3 (thrifted, H&M brand) - Scarf, <$5 (Wal-Mart.. it's really a fixture to my wardrobe :P ) - Necklace, random?? - Jeans, $10 (Steve and Barry's, altered) - Mustache ring, homemade! - Tinsel is actually from Wal-Mart a bunch of years ago, I looove buying random stuff in the clearance after Christmas, it gets crazy cheap! Like nickels and dimes. For real.

Blog Bloopers Four

This is part of a series of blooper & outtake photos from my last year of blogging in honor of my One Year Blogiversary.

You've all done it. You watch out for people because you're embarrassed of being caught having your picture taken. In my case it's just me and my tripod. Chances are I was staring down a car during most of these pictures.

DIY Gift Idea: The Unicorn Fund

Christmas is only a few days away (eeek! I'm excited for it) and I'm making a few last minute gifts. This one in particular is a Unicorn Fund, it's actually just a fancy penny bank I'm making for my older sister. It is loosely based on this.
I've always thought she is horrible at saving money and she happens to love unicorns so I thought she might get a kick out of it. I will also be adding some quarters to this bank as my sister just moved into her own apartment and has to use quarters for the washing machines, so this gift is not only funny but it will also be practical. Enjoy!

Voila! This is what mine looked like when it was finished, your project may vary!
If you don't do Christmas, this would also be a great birthday gift or just something fun for yourself. What kind of things do you guys make as gifts? I'm thinking about working on some jewelry, that would be fun for me.

Blog Bloopers Three

This is part of a series of blooper & outtake photos from my last year of blogging in honor of my One Year Blogiversary. (which is today!!)

One big detail of style blogging is posing in the right way to capture the outfit at it's best. I sometimes just like to ham it up and ruin the whole photo. Here are some of my finest poses!

Blog Bloopers Two

This is part of a series of blooper & outtake photos from my last year of blogging in honor of my One Year Blogiversary.

Blinking. It's a habit of mine. I'm sure it's one of yours as well! There is nothing really fancy about blinking but I seem to do it in a very classy way. ;)

Ugly Sweater

Well tonight is an Ugly Sweater Christmas party with a youth group I've attended a few events with. They actually plan some of the funnest outtings! Scratch that! I ended up just going for ice-cream due to the lack of a ride, sad day!
I bought this beauty of a sweater many years at a Goodwill before going to a concert. It was a pretty big concert and I went with an old youth group and the only catch was that we had to go find an ugly outfit at the Goodwill in order to attend. (a super pricey Goodwill at that!) I hit the jackpot and found this sweater in all it's sequined glory. It's served a purpose at my 80's themed Sweet 16 as well as for fun dressing up.
I continued the theme of ugly sweater by adding a hat that is almost sweater-like material. I just picked it up at the dollar store the other day and am quite impressed with how great it looks! I bought a few other hats/scarves at the dollar store, they have some really nice things, not gonna lie.
Well I best be getting going, hope you're all having a pleasant weekend and you're able to get a bunch of Christmas shopping done! (that is one of those things I have yet to start :P)

Blog Bloopers One

This is part of a series of blooper & outtake photos from my last year of blogging in honor of my One Year Blogiversary.

Today we'll take a look at my face. Well, all of it's crazy looks. I don't know where a lot of these expressions come from because I do not talk while shooting. I guess I just get really into character. Enjoy! :)
(personal favorite)

My One Year Blogiversary!

I was looking through my blog archive and found out my little blog will be one years old on December 20th. Most random day ever. I do actually remember it well because it was a Loftland concert!

So in honor of such a momentous occasion I have collected blooper & outtake photos from last year up until now. Yes I do take bad photos! Frequently. I actually have a lot because I'm the kind of person who has a lot of expression in my face. I have split them into "categories" (I promise it won't be overload because I have collaged them, it's magnificent)

I have a few quick photos for right now - these are windy days. Which me and my hair are not fans of.

Thanks to everyone who checks out my blog! I hope you'll stick around to see the next few days of pictures. It should be fun!
I know this may be an awkward thing to comment on so if you'd like just leave me a story of your favorite blog photo mishap! I'm very entertained by your stories. :)

One day you're in, the next day you're out.

Me in my all Winter-y goodness.
So I suppose it's negative degrees outside. I didn't think it was that bad. I went and ran errands today with my mom hence the full winter gear. I am so in love with this coat, all my favorite warm scarves match with it! Jackpot!
I've had this particular scarf for forever and a day, I bought it at Wal-Mart and everytime I wear it someone asks if I made it. I really wish I could say yes, but I do not knit/crochet at all. It's a craft I have never picked up.
I had a friend mention that today is Ugly Christmas Sweater day? I have no idea if it's true or not but I accidentally wore this sweater.. I wouldn't say it's ugly at all. I actually bought it in the summer time with hopes of wearing it during the first snowfall. Here we are a few snowfalls later and I'm just getting around to wearing it. I'm not entirely crazy about how it "hugs" my stomach curves, but it fits the weather so I'm good with it.
Well that's about all, I really should go get started on some Christmas gifts.. I am sooo behind! So long! :)

Outfit details - Coat, Swiss Colony - Beret, $5 (forever21) - Scarf, <$5 (Wal-Mart) - Gloves, $1 (Wal-Mart and came with a matching scarf) - Purse, I swapped my friend for it, it's from Wal-Mart. :) - Sweater, $3 (thrifted, Decree brand) - Blue mock turtleneck, <$5 (Shop-Ko) - Jeans, $3 (thrifted, North Crest brand)

Title of this post is Heidi Klum's catch phrase from Project Runway, it also happens to be how I feel about picture taking. Indoor pictures is in for me right now! This new little spot is my sisters old room!
