'09 - My Year of Hair

One of the most important accessories with any outfit is the hair style.
In my case, it was my hair color! My mom has never been crazy about me coloring my hair, but this year I turned 18 and I had total control of what I wanted to do. So I went wild and tried it all. My hair has been everything on the (normal) color spectrum. Except black! (feel free to click the image to see a larger view)

The worst time would probably had been Bleach #2. My scalp became SUPER dry, and I was unable to wear black clothing because my hair was snowing so bad.
My favorite time was the first red color. I loved that red color! But it faded so quickly, even when I used my color saving shampoos and such, but that's just red for ya! I read a tip that it doesn't fade as fast in the winter, so I would love to try it again. I had to wait until after a Christmas play I was in early Dec. (red hair would not have been fitting for my character). I haven't made any decisions yet, but I also want to try some colored streaks, either of blue or purple.

I find it easier to type out what I got for Christmas, instead of having multiple people ask me what I got and having to explain more than a few times. Make sense?

Ice Ice

So yesterday half the town lost power, and today half the tree branches have fallen to the ground.
This is the result of sleet, or rain, whichever.
Luckily my best friend made it home before the really bad stuff hit.
It looks sooo awesome outside! Everything is covered in the wet stuff. I attempted to skate on the ice in the backyard (thick snow covered by a sheet of ice), but I sunk right through, not cool!
My sister and I went outside to sprinkle reindeer dust on the ground, my sister actually took an umbrella with her, and the large tree in our front yard pelted me with ice chunks. But we went out in the good name of reindeer dust!
Pretty excited for tomorrow, I hope you all have a safe & happy Christmas! :)

Great Find!

So while at Wal-Mart, I found this really awesome nail polish!
It's Sally Hansen brand. The color is "rockstar pink" And it was only $3! (could have been less if I had a coupon on me, oh well!)

It's this cool glitter kind, usually the glittery ones are pretty lame and you have to add many extra coats to get a desired look, but this came out in one stroke. Very impressive. I intend on wearing a really fun, bright color underneath. It will be awesome for a party look, like NYE coming up!

Let it snow!

The first time in two days I am not in pajamas! I have no life this week.
We're supposed to be getting sick weather, I can't wait.
I didn't really feel like dressing up, today I'm just running some errands with my fam. It's the highlight of my week because I actually get to go outside my house.
Here is attempt #1, when I had a ton of ambition! But then I realized this dress makes me look pregnant, so I quickly changed.

Here is attempt #2. Then I started getting hungry and gave up.. oh well. Comfy fake uggs!

Something I'm ever more excited about?!?!?! MY BEST FRIEND IS COMING HOME TODAY!!! She has been at college in FL for like 4 months.. I have missed her so much.

Loftland Concert!

Loftland is an amazing local band, from Brodhead, WI. (check them out on MySpace)
Anywho, they are playing tonight in Stoughton, WI with Everyday Sunday! I have adored them since I was a young teen. I am excited to go.

I usually get dressed to the nines for a concert, but with winter weather here, and snow flurries, I just didn't feel up for anything over the top. Instead I went for a nerdy librarian look. Funny, my sister is a librarian and she is coming to the concert and she looks cooler than me!

Christmas Shopping

So I didn't really feel like going out, but I still had some things to buy my mom. We went to Wal-Mart and wouldn't you know it, still didn't find what I was looking for! Ugh!

I'm still deciding on a local to take pictures, just trying this one out, it's my room with my large scarf collection.

A look into my closet

These are just collages of outfits past, mostly from 2008 and beyond, that's when I really started to discover that just because I'm plus size, doesn't mean I couldn't wear nice things! (my life before then was lots of jeans and graphic tee's, I've never been into sweats)
I mostly wear jeans everyday, I own way to many pairs of leggings, and I have enough scarves to last me lifetime. Those are pretty much my basics. I also have a key necklace I wear all the time, I wore it before Tiffany's actually made them popular. Mine is actually a cheap material and this past summer left a nice green ring on my neck, I probably should have stopped wearing it, but I didn't!
I love jewelry a lot, and I own my fair share of it (new, vintage, costume, quirky) but I never know how to use it to accessorize an outfit, that is something I would love to learn to do!

An Intro to Me

I must first apologize, I change the name/color/layout of this blog so many times, it's enough to make your head spin. I have a hard time deciding what I like the best. My style changes constantly. Which brings me to my next point. It would be soo amazing to start a style blog. So I wanted to come up with a name. I am the biggest bargain shopper ever, and I LOVE thrift stores. My favorite is a local St.Vincent's De Paul. I'd rather have my own style than to follow fashion or trends. Or at least, I try to present a good image to other people. And I love clothes. Excuse the caution tape, it was part of a prank.

Sparkle Season

I feel as though I have accomplished quite a bit of Christmas shopping.
My best friend who has been in FL at college for way to many months, has finally returned! Well, she's almost here anyways and I cannot wait to see her!! :D
I really want to get her something awesome, besides the time we share, but I'm low on money and I still have to buy gifts for the 'rents. Oh what a problem.
On the bright side, I've been thinking more and more about this here blog. I finally visit it on a regular basis, at least for the last 2 months or so. That is pretty good. I really want to start a fashion blog, those are what I follow around here, I just don't know if I want to commit all that time to actually wear real clothes everyday (another homeschool thing, my last four years of high school were mostly spent in PJS, and there is absolutely no glamor in babysitting) and then documenting them and saying shtuff about why I wore what I did, but I love writing & fashion, so why not?! Another reason I would like to do it is I cannot find any fashion bloggers who fit my description, a teenager and plus-size, so I would like to fill that position. If you know of any, please let me know, I would be highly interested in following :)
Speaking of writing .. the Sheldon Show is in season 2! I love it very much, it's getting better and better with every episode. Last weekend we did 3 days of shooting and rounding up a total of 5 people, that was difficult. I think I will stick with just one or two guest from now on, in one day.
Well if you read this far, thank you, hopefully I won't let you down and I can do all the things I just wrote here.
